Federal Insurance
I've been at Vantage for 14 years, and many more in the financial industry, and one topic that has consistently raised questions is NCUA Insurance. I hope this sheds a little light on it for you.

But I promised this post would be about Federal Insurance. Vantage deposits are currently insured by the NCUA up to $250,000. You know - just like bank deposits are insured by the FDIC. However, what you may not know is that there are ways to increase your coverage amounts. It all hinges on how your accounts are owned.
I recently came across this video created by BVS (a premier Credit Union training provider) on YouTube. I believe it does a great job in explaining some of the different ways you can increase your Federal Insurance coverage. Take a listen . . .

It's Sat AM and I started the process of setting up a transfer link from a Vantage account to a non-Vantage account through Billpay. I submitted the request for an activation code sent to my email address. My email account has a spam blocker so I assumed the code would be blocked so I watched some 20 minutes and no email. I called the 0055 number and was informed there would be no Billpay help until Tuesday, May 26. Undaunted, I returned to the activation page and selected the phone option to receive my activation code. The response was immediate and I am able to transfer as of this writing and through the weekend.
Observations:
1. If one avenue does not work, try another within the website.
2. Personell answering the phone should have a complete working knowledge of the new website to aid callers for help. Additional training is recommended.
3. Billpay help should be available 24/7, 365 days.
