Welcome to the all new VCU.COM. My name is Matt and I work in the Technovation department here at Vantage Credit Union. What is Technovation you ask? It's just a name we made up to describe the mission of our department, which is to: Enable, Innovate and Serve. I wanted my first blog post to be both helpful and interesting.

A million dollars. One million beans. That’s a lot of cabbage. Who hasn’t wished they had it? Not only could you afford to dress in Juicy Coutour all day long, if you were a millionaire, you could actually fly to the unveiling of next season's fashion at their show in Milan, Italy! Or how about tickets to this year's entire concert series?

How long would it take to count a trillion one-dollar bills ($1,000,000,000,000)?

Fast counters can count to 200 in a minute. That puts them at 1,200 in an hour. At this rate, it would take over 9,500 years to count to a trillion!

It wasn’t that long ago that many retail stores were closed on Sundays. Today, not only are more stores open with longer hours, online shopping sites allow you to push your consumerism to the limits. You can shop online 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can shop on Sundays. You can shop on holidays.

Vantage Credit Union was founded on the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.  As a not-for-profit organization, volunteers play important roles in our success.  Therefore, we are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help serve in a variety of volunteer capacities.
