Best of LocalFlavorSTL 2.0

What an incredible two years it’s been since we started the LocalFlavorSTL blog series highlighting some of your favorite local businesses, shops and people in the St. Louis Metro. On our journey, we’ve sampled some tasty coffee and chocolate from the Cottleville area, read some intriguing books from local authors such as Koran Bolden, and have stepped up our fashion game with t-shirts and accessories from some top-rated boutiques.

It was challenging narrowing our list down to a few, but listed are some of your favorites featured on the blog.

Made Supply Co.

I honestly didn’t know a key fob could be so cool, but what’s even cooler is that Made Supply Co. owners, Greg and Angie Lewis, create wearable art that turns heads wherever they go.

East + West

Love this place because 1) My favorite pair of socks are from here. 2) Brian and I are both fans of Lecrae. 3) They’re relocating to the Central West End which means I may need an increase in my clothing budget asap! BONUS: I LOVE the name East + West.

I know two Zoe’s, and they are both awesome! Zoe Scharf is co-owner of Greetabl, and her friendly personality shines through the personalized gifts from Greetabl. I love everything about handwritten notes and greeting cards. Greetabl kicks it up a notch with tiny trinkets that you can send with the cards to make that special someone feel “extra” special.

VB Chocolate Bar

Cottleville is one cool hideaway town with hidden treasures like VB Chocolate Bar. I had some great dark chocolate. Connor’s creative mind comes up with these crazy concoctions that you just HAVE to try.

Jazz at the Bistro

If you’re a music fan (of any genre), Jazz at the Bistro ranks at the top of the list for best venues for great music, food, beverages, and ambiance. Last year, my wife and I saw one of my favorite artists perform there – Robert Glasper!

Shirt Kong

I loved my first t-shirt from them so much that I’ve purchased it twice. And honestly, I want (need) another one. Don’t judge me. LOL! Check Shirt Kong out, and you’ll see why.

LaCosecha Coffee

Mission minded. Community oriented. Coffee Connoisseurs. Just a few words to describe the incredible staff at LaCosecha Coffee. Every time we’ve asked them to partner with us on an endeavor whether personally or professionally, they’ve happily obliged us. Cheers to LaCosecha!

SugarFire Smokehouse

There’s been a lot of buzz about SugarFire Smokehouse for the past few years, and I had to check this out for myself. I thought my dad’s bbq was the only bbq I’d enjoy, but I became a fan after making several visits. They even make great burgers which I quickly devoured. As the old saying goes “A picture is worth a thousand words.”
