What is Masterpass™ by Mastercard ®?

Masterpass is a digital wallet that simplifies the checkout process across all of your purchases online, in-app and in-store with one secure account. To get started, simply register online and load your Vantage Mastercard credit or debit card.

How do I make my Vantage card(s) my default card?

After you’ve added your Vantage card(s) to Masterpass, it’s easy to make it your default payment option. If your Vantage card is the first card added, it automatically becomes the default. If another card is your current default, simply go to the Masterpass app, select your Vantage card and ‘set as default card’.

The image displayed for my Vantage card(s) does not look like my actual card. Why?

The payment card displayed in Masterpass may not match your physical card. In those instances, Masterpass will use a graphical representation of your card.

You can determine your card is accurate by verifying the following information matches your physical card:

  • The card network (i.e., Mastercard ®)
  • The card issuer (i.e., Vantage Credit Union)
  • The last four digits of your physical card number

What if I lose my Vantage credit or debit card(s)?

If you lose your credit card or debit card, you should immediately inform Vantage so we can cancel it and send you a replacement card.

For a lost debit card after business hours, call 866.820.8792

You will no longer be able to use the lost card in Masterpass after the card is canceled. After you receive your replacement card, you’ll need to add the new card into Masterpass.

Is Masterpass safe to use?

Yes. Your Masterpass account comes with multi-tiered security to help keep your information private. Plus, when you check out in stores using the Masterpass app, a unique number is shared with the merchant instead of your actual card details, which means your information is protected.

How do I keep track of purchases I’ve made with Masterpass?

You’ll find a list of recent purchases in your card’s details screen.

To see the details for your Masterpass purchases:

1. Open the Masterpass app
2. Go to the Cards section and select the card you used
3. Click Recent Transactions

Keep in mind that you’ll still have to show your receipt from the merchant if you ever need proof of purchase; so make sure you keep it for your records.

What should I do if my device is lost or stolen?

Since Masterpass doesn’t store your card details on your phone, anyone who finds or steals your phone won’t be able to access that information, even if it’s unlocked. For extra security, you may want to change your password by signing into your online account.

Which devices support Masterpass?

Masterpass is supported by Android devices running Kit Kat (4.4) or higher.
